Hey, I'm Ivan. I was born in Germany and grew up in Syria, and I've been fascinated by technology for as long as I can remember.
As a kid, I was always tinkering. I remember my dad getting me my first Samsung phone and the excitement of standing by the window, trying to catch a signal to download games. I even tried my hand at "hacking" Facebook accounts (just for fun!) and fell for a few of those online money-making schemes.
Back then, I didn't know much about the world of IT. It wasn't until I moved back to Germany that my passion really took off, thanks in large part to my uncle. He's a die-hard Linux fan, and watching him work his magic in the terminal was just amazing.
That inspiration led me to study for the LPIC-1 Linux administrator exam. While I was studying, I realized something important: I never got bored. In fact, the more I learned about Linux, the more excited I became. It was a feeling I'd never had with anything else. That's when I knew I'd found my world.
Today, I live and breathe this stuff. I love the feeling of being in the terminal, troubleshooting a server with a coffee in hand, and building security solutions to protect my systems.
I'm a huge fan of the open-source world and spend a lot of my free time playing with my homelab and self-hosting cool projects. It's an amazing feeling to have control over your own data.
I also have a soft spot for WordPress. I've been using it since 2018, and my goal is to start my own WordPress hosting company one day. I want to offer a free hosting option for people who can't afford it, because I believe everyone deserves to have a place to share their ideas with the world.
Starting in April 2025, I'll be studying Cybersecurity at BHT in Berlin.
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a little better.
